22% of this great cookie is fine Belgian 60% cocoa-mass chocolate. The other 78% includes unsalted Irish butter, Irish free-range eggs, unrefined muscovado sugar, unbleached flour, natural Madagascan vanilla and just a hint of coconut to underline the chocolate flavour.
From the first time Jane and Richard set up that stall at Clonakilty Farmers’ Market in 2003 the standards for our biscuits have stayed the same: always the best ingredients, especially Irish butter, and absolutely nothing artificial (although we do make an exception for baking soda!).
The doughs are still all made in small batches, the cookies are portioned and shaped by hand, then baked in a traditional oven.
Because every cookie we produce is individually hand-made no two ever look exactly alike; because we use the best ingredients we can find, they are all equally delicious.
Lots of the flour, oats and other ingredients used in our range are Irish.
